Consecrated Firearms

Consecrated hammer of the king of lifeEach Dog carries a mid-Nineteenth Century Colt Dragoon, a heavy .44 caliber single-action pistol. Those who serve call these weapons the Consecrated Hammers of the King of Life. Though outdated and slow loading, they are still on par with the range and stopping power of modern double-action pistols.

Less common and a bit less revered are the consecrated longarms, intricately engraved Spencer rifles. These are formally known as the First Trumpets of the Counsel of Heaven, but they have significantly less cache and are rarely spoken of in formal terms. Some Dogs instead prefer to carry modern rifles like the Winchester Model 1886. Coach guns are also popular, short double-barrel shotguns from a variety of manufacturers.

Dogs train regularly with consecrated firearms. They always add 1d6 instead of 1d4 when using a Colt Dragoon or Spencer Rifle. This change applies to the “firearms exception” die mentioned on page 28.
